The COVID 19 pandemic created a new setting for being in the world; how to create a collective physical world without us being together? In this table, artists used to group creations think about the social isolation impact on the collective body and artistic creation.
MINI BIOS:
AJEUM forms a nucleus of artists created in 2014, currently hosted in the periphery of São Paulo’s South zone, with researches targeted at the black body and its cosmovision of the world.
RENAN MARTINS has been a member of the Belgian company Demaged Goods/Meg Stuart since 2013. A Brazilian choreographer and dancer, he lives in between the city of Porto (Portugal) and Heidelberg (Germany).
RICARD@ ALVARENGA Artist of body and image. She is a native of Triângulo Mineiro where she currently works as a professor in the Dance Course at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). She holds a degree in Biology from the UFU and a master’s degree from the Postgraduate Program in Dance at the Federal University of Bahia. In her artistic-academic career, she addresses issues and compositions that permeate knowledge of the arts and philosophy, the sensory practices and insurgent politics that rise up against the normative white hetero-cis patriarchal project. Her works take place in the transit between contemporary dance, performance, photography, video and installation. For the last 5 years, she has been directing Provisório Corpo Grupo de Dança (Provisional Body Dance Group), configured as a continuous extension project of the Dance Course at UFU.
