What if the thought took one step back and wonder around without location ideas? What if we could think of a choreography outside the arrow of time? Questions like these push the duo of artists to seek for “an image to think spatiality without the formal space and time fictions.”

In an audiovisual edition exclusively for this Dance Biennial, Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira’s performance overrides the length and extension conventions.  The experimental work proposes to elaborate on the difference without the so-called separability. The idea gives a body to the thought of the visual artist and philosopher from Rio de Janeiro, Denise Ferreira da Silva, when imagining a film “without the ghost of linearity.”

For such, both turn to procedures used since the start of the dance partnership in 2018: “A series of actions that deal with uncertainty, disorder, and the provisional, to think about an ethics out of time for black lives.”

The daylight breaks into cracks and windows from a shed where the action takes place, and the audio landscape, emphasize the sensory character of the creation that merges reflections in a voice-over from Pontes.
