The unreleased podcast A Radio Station in the Landscape (Uma Rádio na Paisagem) invites artists from different fields to talk about landscape, their biographical experiences and artistic references. Designed and directed by choreographer Gustavo Ciríaco, it is published weekly and covers, in two series, the universes and spatial poetics of artists such as Ana Pi (dance), Bruno Levorin (performance), João Saldanha (dance), Laura Lima (visual arts), Luciana Lara (dance and site-specific projects), Marcelo Evelin (dance), Maya Da-rin (cinema), and Michelle Moura (dance).

In the midst of a dialogue about the influence of landscape in his works, the conversation is fostered by references coming from literature, cinema, landscape design, architecture, visual arts, performing arts, and his own experience with nature.

The first episode, The City of Party Crashers (A cidade dos penetras), discusses the book The Invention of Landscape, by French writer and art critic Anne Cauquelin, who draws special attention to the illusion of assuming landscape as equivalent to nature, although its construction and concept are artificial. “We only see what has already been seen, and we see it as it should be seen. At the core of her approach is the inevitable influence of art history on the multi-layered construction of our spatial perspectives,” says Ciríaco, a contextual artist from Rio de Janeiro based between Lisbon and Rio.
